A true Texan at heart, Bazil has never lived in any other state. She takes care of her laying hens, cats, and Blue Lacy dogs – which she proudly announces to everyone is the state dog of Texas. She sometimes finds time to care for other people’s livestock when they go on vacation, tending everything from horses to pigs and rabbits. Though she doesn’t have much of a green thumb, she does like to forage, canning the wild mulberries into jam and adding the Indian Strawberry leaves into her teas.
