~~ Designed for round bottom woks on ELECTRIC stoves. ~~
After using our son's carbon steel wok I told Richard that we "needed" one. Deciding to purchase a round bottom due to normally cooking on gas we then had to find something to "tide us over" whilst cooking on electric for a few weeks. This Steel Wok Rack seemed to be the most obvious solution. The first one arrived completely bent out of shape due to having been packed poorly with other items. (Not the fault of the manufacturer.) We promptly returned it and ordered a new one. Perfect!Question is, does it work? YES! We have a 14" round bottom wok which sits nicely in this rack providing much needed stability. Without it the wok would wobble on top of our electric stove top which could be a definite burning hazard.Measurements? It is approximately 1 7/8" high, 8 1/8" in diameter at the top and 10 1/4" wide at the bottom. It is the PERFECT size for one of our large stove rings. We have a glass top electric stove. (See pic.)My only complaint which is really not a complaint but an observation is that the wok bottom does NOT touch the stove top therefore I found I needed to cook on HIGH for it to be effective. You won't get the same results that you would using gas flame like you see the Chinese chefs cooking with.PLEASE NOTE that you sit your wok in the WIDE end with the narrow end of the rack being in contact with your stove top.We purchased this item at full price. We were not required to write a review but chose to do so. Thanks, Liz

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Stay Put!

In use, the pan constantly tilts to the heavier handle-side,
and the ring constantly slides across the burner grates.

I bought the "12356 Alsr001 Steel Wok Rack, Medium, Metallic"
    - ring - when I bought the wok. It is lightweight, well sized to my new
14" Yosukata carbon-steel wok. If you don't have a 'hob' that will hold
your wok securely¹, keeping it from rolling off of the cooktop, and you
want a solution without researching +/or committing to a cast-iron
type wok ring, then this is an adequate, lightweight, inexpensive,
stainless steel², classic choice!...if it is plated with stainless,
but not SS all the way through, have to give it a negative buy recomendation.

¹ I recommend using it large side up for a 14" wok, maybe better small side up with smaller woks
² the high heat will 'color it up' with a bit of rainbow, but it also appears to be corroding a bit [picture] or possibly it's a SS coating or plating that's wearing away in normal use?!

Cut myself on the crude hole punches and I'm coordinated and cautious; just wait till you wash it... Thin, un-steel-like cheap metal that glows red hot (see picture) and cools permanently purple like toxic waste or sharpie ink on a glossy surface. Gave 2 stars since they sent me something that holds the wok and hasn't killed me yet. Tempted to give 1 star or even return it.

The inner lip of this product is a raw cut and is pretty sharp. If you carelessly run you finger along it you will cut yourself and bleed.
You will need acetone to remove the sticker.
