Product Description

Eretz Creeping Red Fescue is for its disease resistance, low-prostrate growth, improved dark-green color, and high shoot density. High endophyte levels result in excellent performance in mixed climates. Mix with additional seed varieties such as Perennial Ryegrass and/or fine fescues for a superb lawn. Does well in zones 1-7 (can be used annually in 8-10). Low maintenance, does not require much fertilizer, higher mowing depth recommended. Till ground before sowing, then firm soil & level. Spread seeds evenly. Rake/till gently into soil & cover. Keep soil moist until established. Best planted in Spring or Fall. New Lawn: 4-6lbs / 1,000 sq. ft; established lawn/re-seed: 2-4lbs / 1,000 sq. ft. Typical germination: 12-22 days

Wait for it to germinate! Takes longer
After two weeks almost, and sprinkling my areas I had sown every single day, I was about to give up and till and do over again. But this grass seed came up spectacularly after its lengthy germination period. You just have to keep the soil damp after scattering seeds. After preparing the planting area and scattering my seeds, I covered them very lightly with a very thin layer of old potting soil left from last year’s flowers. That seemed to hide them from the birds and keep them put when the winds blew heavily. It’s pretty and green with very fine stems just as advertised…perfect for my mostly shaded lawn.

Took a while to grow. I live in zone 9 planted in January, Reseeded in February and again in March. Used one bag for 1000 SqFt overall. Cleared and prepped soil with 12 bags of fertilizer at time of seeding. Had many squirrels and birds eat the seeds. This variety self heals "bald" patches in ground so not worried. Would buy again. Hoping it last through the summer heat, this grass loves shade. Images included to show before, during and after.
